Designing with Mirrors

Posted by Paula Nolan keogh on

There is no better way to open up a space than with mirrors.  We did a little photo shoot here in this showhouse and got a few rare photos of us trying to pretend we liked the camera and guess what? Yes we were surrounded by mirrors … at least one in every room.
Adding a focal point to your space is easy with a statement mirror. Not only functional they add accent and personality to your space. We love to use them in pairs and in shapes that compliment your décor. In this showhouse the gold round mirror is complimented by the round gold side table .
We also added a round rug which gave great flow to the space.  Although this mirror reflects the Nordic trend the brass finish insure it's classical and timeless.

Shop Decorative Wall Mirror

This industrial style black oval mirror in the picture above is a little gem . Although simple in style the shelf makes the mirror extra special. Style the mirror with a little plant, artificial greenery or your favorite perfume bottle in a bathroom . This mirror could be used in a hall, bathroom, kitchen or living space. A contemporary mirror that reflects the arts and crafts era.

French style mirrors are always popular and can look great in both a traditional or modern setting . A grey washed finished and decorative moulding add interest to this long wall mirror.

Triple Gothic Window Style Wall Mirror

This triple gothic window style mirror in the photo above would be especially useful in a room where there are no windows . Many bathrooms are windowless so this mirror will add accent and interest to a space while also reflecting lots of light.
Not just for bathrooms though this mirror could be used anywhere.

This grey washed windowpane mirror is another of our favourites . Use these mirrors alone or in groups of two or three to add real drama and accentuate your wall space . We use them to great effect on landings, in halls and just about anywhere. A great design tip is to place one directly opposite a window to reflect lots of light into the space.

Free Standing Swivel Mirror

My all time favourite  dressing room mirror was used to great effect in this master bedroom (Photo above). Freestanding mirrors are not easy to find and this oval swivel mirror on a stand are just perfect. Use on a landing, bedroom, bathroom or just about anywhere to make dressing up a pleasure. Fashion bloggers and selfie lovers will adore this mirror. It's  one of the best we have ever seen. It makes a great gift too .

Whatever you favourite mirror style is, we will always have a selection for you to choose from . Large, small, french style, industrial, over mantle, round or square and hopefully we will always have my favourite … the freestanding dressing room mirror .
Lots of other interior design and décor ideas to see on our other home décor website .
All available to buy online.

Which mirror is your favourite ?
